Today, we celebrate the life of my mom. At a young age of 45, she passed away. For three years, she battled cervical cancer. We all fought hard, exhausted all means to keep her alive. It all left us devastated but we had to accept her fate. The year she passed away was the same year I entered college and transferred in Manila. It was a difficult year for me as I adjusted being away from my family and grieving from her loss at the same time. I always ask why it had to happen to me and to my family. But now I know why. It made me strong willed, independent and forward looking, just the way she wanted me to be. I miss you ma. I know youre watching over us. I love you.
