Today we celebrate the release of two films, Cinderfella and Moonstruck. What do these two films released more then twenty-seven years apart have in common? They both feature music by yours truly, Harry Warren! In 1960 Harry teamed up with his partner Jack Brooks to write the soundtrack to Cinderfella starring Jerry Lewis and Judith Anderson. The musical comedy was a different take on the classic fairytale with a gender reversal as a twist. With such a humorous story as a backdrop Harry composed some of his most whimsical pieces like The Other Fella, Somebody, and The Princess Waltz. In 1987 Harrys smash hit Thats Amore became the official song of the three time Academy Award-winning romantic comedy Moonstruck starring Cher and Nicholas Cage as unlikely lovers. Thats Amore was also co-written by Jack Brooks so he deserves a congratulations as well! Enjoy this trailer for Moonstruck set to Thats amore for our countdown to Christmas posts. ow.ly/G0HA2
