Today we celebrate the second annual International Day to End - TopicsExpress

Today we celebrate the second annual International Day to End Obstetric Fistula. Women and girls who suffer from obstetric fistula also leak urine and feces, causing further physical discomfort as well as social stigmatization, isolation, and shame. Alice Emasu is a 2013 VVLead Fellow who has dedicated her life to ending fistula in Uganda, where 200,000 women and girls currently suffer from fistula and approximately 1,900 more occur every year. Her organization TERREWODE has worked with survivors of obstetric fistula to find treatment, legal aid, and the support necessary to re-integrate into their communities. SHARE this video and help spread awareness about bringing an end to Obstetrics Fistula. #Endfistula
