Today we farewelled my 89 year old Nana. Im so grateful for all she brought to my life and will miss her xx My Nana Marj Brave, generous, courageous and strong. A small lady with big presence. Her love of people was her guiding light, filling the hearts of people from all walks of life. Shed challenge thought, but would always seek new understanding. She was my voice of reason and truth, my steadfast and friendly hand. She taught me about life, to sew, to skip and cook great soup. She taught me respect, grace and forgiveness. She was the Queen of scrabble, binding words and generations. We journeyed together - cycling down country lanes, hoisting bikes over fences that got in our way, to further foreign shores. A highlight was to reunite brother and sister in England after 50 years, to reminisce and meet new family, so similar, despite the years spent apart. It was a joy to meet her good friends over the years. She loved to share her family with them. She gave me the secrets of her long marriage to guide me along. She showed me love and wisdom. She showed me commitment and bravery. She was an achiever, an overcomer an entertainer. My Nana was rich with teachings and love. I thank you Nana, Im have richness because of you. Youll always be with me, skipping alongside me as I journey through life. My heart goes with you, until we meet again.
