Today we found out that our middle sons, best friends dad passed away suddenly over the weekend. Now we didnt know him well but Kiddo has spent many hours at his house with his friend and his friend has spent many hours here with us as well. It breaks my heart that this boy, our sons age, is going through this. Kiddo is with his dad so I havent had the chance to talk to him but I am told he is sad but doing ok. I am telling you all this because it has fired something up with in me. What if today was your last day on earth? Would you have any regrets? Would be proud of yourself? Would you have accomplished every thing that you wanted. If the opportunity arose to get a wish/dream scratched of your list, would you take it or wait until another day? Would you treat people differently? Would you treat your family different? Would you treat yourself differently? Less time with stuff and more time making memories? We are not handed a date that tells us when our lives are over. I have a new outlook now. I will be a better me. I will listen more when my kids tell me things, I will try harder not to get upset over juice spilling. I will show my family every single day how much they mean to me. I will spend more time on myself. Crushing goals, sweating buckets, and learning that I am enough! I will be kind to everyone who crosses my path, remembering that I do not know what they may be going through. I will be a better mom, girlfriend, daughter, sister. When my time comes, I want to be so confident that I did my best to raise compassionate, self loving, caring, amazing boys. That I showed my partner the meaning of love and how amazing our relationship was. That my parents are proud of me no matter how many mistakes I have made in the past. That my friends remember me in positive,helpful, caring ways. That the people in my life take the time we had together and cherish it. As I will start cherishing every day from now on. Laugh, love and live with me!
