Today, we had a basketball game. And, as with most basketball - TopicsExpress

Today, we had a basketball game. And, as with most basketball games, the pep band was there to cheer us on. Usually, the pep band has the loudest cheerers, the most excitement, and the music to pump up the crowd. Today, though, the pep band seemed to be lacking. As a former pep band player, this made me kind of sad. When I was in pep band, I had so much fun! That was my favorite part of every game! Today, though, it seemed like nobody was having fun. I decided that I didnt have to just sit back and listen to them struggle. I decied that, even though I had just finished a game and was sweaty and tired, I would step out of my comfort zone and go play with the pep band. And I wasnt alone! Adrianna, Lulu, Dori, Amanda, and Avril all joined me. I will just remind you that we were under no obligation to play with the pep band. But we did, and we had SO MUCH FUN!!! I remember Tabitha playing in the pep band. She was the person who cheered her loudest, laughed the most, and had as much fun as she could. I remember that playing in pep band with her was always so much fun. I was reminded of that today as I sat in the locker room, contemplating whether I should go play in the pep band or not. Us girls, today, decided to not be selfish with our own time, but to willing to help out others. We went outside of our own comfort zones and did something to benefit others, not ourselves. In doing so, I believe that we truly payed forward Tabithas heart. She was always thinking of others and doing selfless acts for everyone around her. This is something that we all can strive for everyday. And when I saw the thankfulness and gratitude displayed on my band teachers face today, I was truly rewarded.
