Today, we have some positives to report! Jess spent two hours in her special physio chair today! She also had the valve in her trach for over 6 hours. This was huge for her first real attempt. Although she hasnt mastered speaking thru it, having it in and maintaining excellent O2 sats enabled her to take several sips if water thru a straw! She was able to swallow it down fine with no choking. Hopefully tomorrow brings more steps in the right direction. Tuesday is the big consult day with the neurologists and make the decisions about whats next. Looks like Toronto or London May be in Jessicas future when stable enough to make the transfer. When praying for Jessica tonight, please send prayers and positive thoughts to Fellow Loyalist Fire Fighter Todd Conley for his father who is having his own struggles here at KGH.
