Today we headed off to Nara, to meet my brother and sister-in-law, Yasushi & Akemi, and their son and daughter-in-law, Shun & Sachi, for lunch at an Italian restaurant we like. Usually, we take the expressway tunnels through the Ikoma mountains that separate Osaka and Nara, but today we decided to take the road over the mountains. That was nice, but the drive home was even better. We took the scenic route back over the mountains, the Shigisan Skyline Drive, which runs across the top of Mt. Shigesan, and along the top of the Ikoma mountains. These photos show Nara, from the top.
