Today we honor Walt Landry of Delray Beach, Florida, who passed away on this day in 2011. He is remembered by his daughter, Rachel: Walt Landry served in the 101st Airborne Div (C/5/7) from 1967-68 and received multiple air medals as well as the CIB. He was originally from Newark, NJ but after the war lived on the Jersey Shore with his wife of 40 years, Janet and 2 daughters, my sister, Jennifer and me. He earned his BA in Fine Arts in 1986 and was a talented musician. As a lifetime member of the VVA Chapter 12 (Oakhurst, NJ), he traveled to Chicago for the Welcome Home Parade and attended the dedication of The Wall in DC as well as the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial Foundation. He died far too young on 6/25/2011 at our home in Deray Beach, FL surrounded by his loved ones. He meant so much to all of us and his memory is with us every day out our lives. He is survived by his wife, 3 brothers, 1 sister, his children and his beloved grandchildren: Olivia, Angela, Agustin and Rowan. Thank you for your dedicated service, Walt!
