Today we honor veterans who have sacrificed so that we may enjoy the freedoms we hold dear. Some served willingly, some not so much, but in the end, they all served, they all sacrificed. The rewards for their service is rarely tinged with gold, rather it is tinged with the red of blood, the white of innocence too often destroyed and the blue of loss. This is the price of freedoms defense. We also honor the sacrifices of their family and friends. Those left behind also deserve our thanks for all they suffer while their loved ones are defending our freedom. And, it isnt just the vet who too often pays the ultimate price, their loved ones also feel the blue of the ultimate loss. The freedoms and rights that are guaranteed by our Constitution have been secured for over two centuries because of the brave men and women who serve, who protect and defend this country. Today, we should all give thanks for their bravery and dedication to keeping us safe and free of tyranny. We owe them so much. We honor them when we join together to uphold the freedoms for which they sacrificed. Take a moment anytime you see a vet and thank them for their service. Its the least we can do.
