Today we lay my precious Auntie to rest beside the love of her life who left her eleven years ago. Auntie lived a long and fulfilling life...filled with people who she basically walked through life the good way. I remember the scoldings, the heart to heart talks, the walks down memory lane with her, but most of all I remember the love...the mamas love she showed me these past 50 years. Yes, she was my stand-in mama for 50 years, since I was sent to stay with her and Uncle for high school. She was a big part of my life and I will truly miss her. But I know she is in a good place now. I can only imagine her face when she saw Uncle, my dad, my gramps and gram, her mama, her papa once again. I imagine she was beaming from ear to ear. My Auntie, my Mama. I love you always and I look forward to seeing you one day again. Thank you all in advance for your kind words and your caring for us during these tough days. And thank you to so many who visited my Auntie at the Pioneer Home over the past few months. Love you all. See you at the St. Matthews Episcopal Church on First Avenue at 1 pm for the viewing and 2 pm for the service and about 5 pm for the potlatch. Basee again.
