Today we passed on second reading an ordinance that I firmly believe will make the city healthier by expanding our anti-smoking ban to include parks and recreational areas, city-owned vehicles and the entrances at city-owned buildings. The resolution, which I sponsored along with Councilman Carlos M. Gonzalez also expands the definition of smoking to include e-cigarettes and hookahs. I want to hear your feedback on this resolution, which is up for final adoption on Oct. 15 after a public hearing.
