Today we pray for the safety of travellers; those returning to work/school after a winter break; those with a cold or flu and feeling wretched; those who are depressed or tempted to end their own life; for those trying to overcome addictive behaviours, and their families and friends; for those fighting the bush fires in Australia, and all who risk their own safety to ensure that of others; for those discerning a religious or priestly vocation, and the communities/dioceses involved; for those who make their living from words, that they may respect truth and charity; for all of us and the grace to live today in such wise that we are not ashamed or cast down by a sense of sin and failure at the end of it.
