Today we proudly introduce Ritz Radio Players Clara Cacophony and Julian Chipper Cornelius! Clara Cacophony (Fan, Martha Cratchit, Young George, Petey Bailey, Sound) is making her debut in radio theatre this holiday season. She would not have known of its existence if Miss Georgia Power had not sent her a carrier pigeon requesting that she join the cast. Before gracing the stage with her presence, Clara enjoyed a quiet yet cacophonous existence living among the Sherpas of the Himalayan mountain region. After climbing the highest peak of the mountain range, she moved to Australia, where she led a quiet life of shark hunting. Although she lost her pinky toe after cutting her way out of a great whites belly, she still maintains that it was an absolutely worthwhile experience. After that, she kayaked through the Bermuda Triangle and, after undergoing a strange sequence of events involving giant squids and otters, was discovered by Miss Georgia Power and is now pivotal member of the Ritz Radio Theatre productions. She would like to thank the people of Atlantis and the Sherpas for all of their love and support. Julian “Chipper” Cornelius (Pop Bailey, Nick, Impatient Neighbor, Christmas Present) began his radio career in 1941 with the Walter Winchell evening broadcast. In 1942, “Chipper” began to play the role of Lucas in the Mutual Radio Network show Aunt Jenny’s Real Life Stories. That same year he also began writing for the widely read trade magazine, The Radio Star. In addition to creating several roles in the Ritz Radio Theatre production of The Maltese Falcon (including a cameo as a dying man that won him a special citation from the National Society of Overactors), he has appeared on the syndicated programs Bachelor’s Children, The Cisco Kid, and, appropriately, Death Valley Days.
