Today we put Momma in her final resting place...in the cotton fields back home...where she came from. Its gonna seem strange to some, but this video reminds me so much of my Momma. Not only did she love sports, but she especially loved football. She understood it, the Xs & Os and especially the emotional aspect of this game her whole family loves so much. She understood words like dedication, work ethic, playing through pain, team, sacrifice, heart, perseverance....she got butterflies just like we did, she cheered, just like we did, and guess what? She just won this ole game of life infinity to zip! She endured way more than anybody should have to in the last 3 years, as Daddy said. Football is the ultimate team sport and people that dont get that....well, just dont get it. It teaches you so much about life and how you get through adversity and let downs, injuries and not being able to play, but mainly it teaches you, about you. How will I handle this and that. As Coach Gray used to tell us boys....you can fight a bear for a little while, but thats all we need is a little while to win. So, with Momma, on that day and at the end of her life, she can look in the mirror, and just know, that she gave it her all and she gave it for a worthy cause. I love and miss you Momma.....we all do. Is it Friday night high school football every night in Heaven just for you? I hope so.
