Today we remeber and honor those who lost their lives on 9-11. It is a day that I do not think anyone will ever forget. The unimaginable happened that day and to this day it seems so surreal. Thank you just does not seem to be enough to thank our heroes who risked their own lives to save the lives of so many. May the memories of those lost on this horrific day be eternal. This is one day when we know the gates of heaven were overflowing and the angels were singing loud. The photos below are mind shattering. As I stared at each one, especially the one photo of the person who bravely jumped from one of the twin towers, I could not help but feel the fear and helplessness this person must have felt. It is pretty amazing that these images were captured but it is also very heart breaking to remember what occurred. We must never forget this day or those who were lost. September 11, 2001 - Benjamin was only 2 1/2 years old . I remember being at work and hearing this news. We were told to go home and that alone set in an enormous fear and panic...after all we were in Lyndhurst, NJ---why were WE being sent home???. I rushed to Jersey City to find my mother and Benjamin out on the avenue shopping, completely unaware of what had occurred. Just one week prior we were in Greece, enjoying the peace and serenity of the mediterranean and a week later the lives of so many were turned upside down. September is a special month. Its ironic in a way... September is a month to honor heroes. The heroes and warriors comprised of brave men, women and children who lost their lives due to terrorist attacks and the heroes and warriors of childhood cancer who in a way battle their own terrorists each and every single day. God Bless the brave who lost their lives on 9-11. May the Memory of each life lost be eternal and may God give all their families peace and comfort today, tomorrow and every day and continue to help them heal from this enormous tragedy. No one will ever forget 9-11...its impossible.
