Today we remember one of the greatest singers in the history of popular music. A wild, flamboyant & bright character onstage whose incredible voice could soar to the greatest heights, belt out rock, or hush a stadium to silence with its tenderness. Of course were talking about Freddie Mercury, who sadly left us this day in 1991. As Queens lead singer, he wrote many of their best & biggest songs including We Are The Champions & Bohemian Rhapsody. His songwriting was often complex & adventurous, explored genres other than rock, and having a vocal range of 4 octaves & amazing natural technique, he could easily try new things with his voice. Did you know he wrote most of his songs on piano, but didnt consider himself a very good pianist, so dreaded performing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in concert because he worried hed mess up the piano parts. Put on your favourite Queen record tonight & remember one of the best frontmen of all time. We salute you, Freddie!
