Today we said goodbye to our beautiful girl Kiri. I am writing today because, although it was too late to help her, I think I may have found another possibly helpful method of feeding. Kiri was 4 1/2 years old. She was diagnosed as a puppy. After years of not gaining much weight, we had finally had success and she was at a decent weight of just over 70 pounds a couple of months ago. Then about a month ago constant regurgitation, visits to an emergency vet. X-rays showed that her esophagus had enlarged so much that it was pushing against her heart and other organs. In the last five days of her life I began tilting her back in her chair in an effort to keep her foods running to her stomach, or just holding her on the bed laid back in a sloped belly rub position, which she liked much more than the chair. The last three days she had stopped regurgitating and was pooping again, proving that her food was getting to her stomach again. It was too late to save her, but I thought I would share it as a possible method to help others dogs. Good luck, and bless all of you who are willing to put forth the extra effort to save your pups. They are ALWAYS worth it.
