Today we spent the day in Votua Lai Lai. Amazing village hall to work in and a great opportunity to help train local village nurses to complete vision screenings and learn about basic eye health. This was also our first opportunity to complete house visits and assess people living with disabilities that are house bound. Busy, busy, busy! We are seeing a lot of knee and back pain, a reminder to all to look after your major weight bearing joints at work, home, and the garden. Also a few people with unusual amputations that are seeking rehab ideas, however to their credit are not letting this get them down or stop participation in daily life. really great attitudes to life. Key message: Do the best with what you have and be happy. If you have a health problem see a Dr sooner than later, often help can be provided to help avoid a more serious concern later.
