Today we study Matthew 14, Mark 6 & Luke 9:1-14 on Quick Study with a focus on Matthew 14:1-12. The death of John the Baptist is a gruesome experience that even his killer cannot let go. It is a stunning mark on the life of Herod that is unsettling. When John’s disciples come to Jesus Christ before he is dead, they ask if Jesus Christ is the Saviour or not. But following John’s death, the meaning is clear. This is a murder that even Jesus Christ is unsurprised but troubled by.
