Today, we ventured out of Branson. Way out. I love finding swimming holes in the Ozarks, and we found a beauty! This is the North Sylamore Creek area, known as Barkshed, in the Ozark National Forest in Stone County, Arkansas. Barkshed is considered by many to be the most beautiful swimming hole in the Ozarks. The pictures dont do it justice. The nearest towns (very small) are Fifty-Six and Big Flat. We went hours today without seeing any other people. We had the entire forest to ourselves. We will be back. It was all over for Shera when the bear spotted us swimming. No bear pics. The water here is as clear as clear can possibly be. But it sure was cold. Spring fed.
