Today we will share one such beautiful incident which happened more than thirty five years back in the month of March sometimes in the mid-seventies.As was the custom, devotees from all parts of the country would beeline before Kinkar Mahimananda Ji (Tarak Da ) to arrange a visit (Padadhuli) of our Thakur at their respective residence. Often they had to wait for months…. even years. It was past midnight, Thakur was traveling on VISHWA-PREM (The black Ambassador with a broad bold Shree painted neatly on the front glass). Few more cars were there in the convoy. They had just left Prof. Shailen Bhattacharya’s (The renowned Astrologer & Professor of humanities at Govt. College) abode at Sovabazar. The next stopover was to be at Dr. Nihar Chatterjee’s villa at South Calcutta. VISHWA-PREM was running fast on the deserted roads of Calcutta. It was pitch dark all around. The only sound audible was the barking of the street dogs. Suddenly Thakur, who had been in a state of trance for the entire evening, stretched his hand on the driver’s shoulder and asked him to take a right turn down the next narrow lane. Everyone in the convoy was surprised. Where does Thakur exactly want to go? Kinkar Sharanananda (Bhaskarda) gathered all his courage and asked Baba amra kothay jabo? Thakur had only a mysterious smile to offer. Much to others amazement VISHWA-PREM halted in front of a small gate of a small household. Well, before the others could help themselves out of the car, Master was at the doorstep, rattling the latches and voicing aloud Maa, Oh Maa, Khol Khol…Darja Khol! The lady indoor came running to the doors and opened it. She just could not believe her own eyes. Her Deity…. Her Lord …Her Master …The Atmaram SITARAM was standing in front of her - at the very door of her own house. So great was her amazement that she stood spellbound for minutes. It was again Sitaram himself who guided her to the formal chores. Jaa … Jaa ..Jaal niye aye , paa dhuiya barir bheterey niya chaal. Now Saraswati Sen had come to her senses. She now could indeed believe her own eyes.Sitaram Himself had come to her humble shelter …even without a formal invitation. It was one-o-clock midnight. What a historic moment! The handful of the chosen ones stood testimony to this wonderful Bhakta Bhagawan Lila on the dingy lane of Jorabagan at North Calcutta. Just to have a glimpse of whom, tens of thousands flock to distant Maths & Ashrams; Just to have his footfall at one’s own residence, the high & the mighty wait patiently for months, He the spiritual master of lakhs…. of people all around the globe, reached out to a narrow by lane of the city, waiting to meet a devotee who could never ever even dream to host beloved BABA at her humble residence. The Griha Badhu is now in her trembling seventies. Locked into the very room where her BABA paid a midnight visit. She can no longer frequent the Maths & Ashrams which she used to, all across the country. Her only company is her 800 stanzas; all making her remember those divine moments He had left some thirty years back. Sometimes ago all of her poems were compiled & published in a book titled Bhakti Pushpanjali. Her grandson Babul Supriya, (famous vocalist of Bollywood) who too is an admirer of Thakur took the initiative to publish this unique book of poems. The frail lady still insists that just as her Baba made a surprise visit to her residence, (rattling the doors himself), in the midnight way back in seventies; her Baba will drop in once again and this time to take her Beti back with him to his heavenly abode of Sitaramlok.
