Today were sharing the recipe for Tangy Onion Flowers from Bronners Flavorful Favorites, Book 2 staff cookbook, available in-store and online. Tangy Onion Flowers* 4 med. onions vegetable oil 1.4 c. balsamic or cider vinegar 1 T. chopped fresh oregano (or 1 teaspoon dried) 1 T. packed brown sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 4 (12-inch) squares foil Heat grill (gas or charcoal). Peel onions. Starting at the top of each onion, cut 1/2-inch slices 3/4 of the way down, leaving root end attached. Gently pull wedges apart. Brush the foil squares with vegetable oil. Place one onion on each square. Loosely shape foil around onion. Sprinkle each onion with vinegar, oregano, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Wrap foil securely around onions. Grill onions 4 inches from medium heat 50 to 60 minutes or until very tender. *submitted by Mitzi Greer
