Today while at Waikato Hospital having my annual check at the Spinabifida Clinic, I was getting my weight measured and blood pressure taken. Since July I have put on 4kgs of muscle which I was excited about, but got a big fright when my blood pressure results were 146/82, which is quite high! I asked the specialist why that could be, and Im on some antibiotics at the moment for an infection, and she said that that was the reason *Phew*! When I had left the hospital I received this lovely message from a follower of my public figure page, it read: Heeeeey! I was at the hospital sitting across from you trying to build up the courage to say THANK YOU! You were such an inspiration through my pregnancy! When my husband and I were pregnant with our daughter we had so many ifs and maybes and information of what could happen and ALOT of what we felt was going to happen seemed negative. But when we heard about you and all the things you have accomplished! Such positivity in our down moments. My daughter was staring at you cause she knows you from Facebook and the Newspaper. Wish I had encourage encourage before we finished seeing the specialist, because by the time we got out, you had gone! But thank you so much for being such a positive role model! Being in a position to inspire people who are going through tough times and similar things to what I have, is something that I take a lot of pride in. For living my life to the fullest and showing people that despite my disability, I am still able to achieve some great things, is something that I hope others can do too! :)
