Today, while at the Humane Society, I got to talking to our animals. They asked if I knew who this Santa person was. I, of course, said yes (remember some of these guys and gals are still young..have to keep them believing in miracles). They began to give me a list of wishes for Santa. So I am going to share it with all of you. Collars of all sizes (both for our dogs and cats)....Clyde said he is tried of wearing purple lol Tennis balls......Someone said Shaggy is trying to bury them like a bone lol Leashes.... Baxter said he refuses to be seen in public on a pink leash. (I told him real men wear pink lol) Cat toys....Charlotta said she gets lonely at night so she needs something to keep her busy. Plastic crates....Betsy said someone has been sleeping in hers and broke it (I didnt have the heart to tell her that crate has been there for years). Cat beds....Blackjack said he is tired of sharing his bed (someone is getting cat hair all over it). The last 2 wishes depend on the generosity of all of you.. Homes....Every animal in the shelter wishes a forever home that is full of love, laughter, and caring. The only way we can continue saving the lives of these wonderful fur babies is by someone adopting a current shelter dog or cat and making room for someone else. I wish that their wishes could be granted. Starting Monday, the Calhoun County Humane Society is going to have a wish barrel in the office at 201 Stringham Drive (across from the fair grounds). From now until Dec. 23rd we will be accepting gifts for our fur friends. If you can donate a wish item, please stop by. If you would like to give the biggest gift of all, a home to a fur baby, then please come visit the Humane Society and see all the wonderful animals that are waiting.
