Today will hopefully be a day on the right side of history at the University of New Mexico. Today. I carry the spirits, inspiration, love, dedication, and momentum of my elders who came before us. The elders of the Student non-violent coordinating committee (SNCC), the Womens rights movement, the Chican@ movement, the anti-war movement, The Queer rights movement, the anti-apartheid South Africa movement, and all of the movements of students and young people that used their Universities and communities as platforms in making sure that we are all on the right side of history. The side of freedom, justice, equality, and peace. Students for Justice in Palestine a long with other social justice organizations on UNM campus are keeping up that momentum. We will keep working towards justice and working together until we make our University, our community, and our world ultimately a better and safer place.
