Today, with an overwhelming bipartisan majority, the House passed legislation approving the long-overdue construction of the Keystone pipeline. The Senate is expected to follow suit within the next couple of weeks, leaving President Obama as the last obstacle, and, with today’s ruling by the Nebraska Supreme Court, the President cannot use ‘uncertainty due to ongoing litigation in Nebraska’ as an excuse to further delay a project that the majority of Americans support. The benefits of this pipeline are without question, and the time to act is now. Again, I strongly urge the President to put the American people’s interests first and reconsider his threat to veto this important legislation.
