Today would have been my daddys birthday, 86 years old. I was very young when he died. A friend sent this tribute to me, she found it in a box of old pictures her mom had. It made me cry but it also made me say Thats My Daddy I love you to heaven and back. A Tribute To Jessie By Mrs. Wilfred Kidder I just cant turn em down when theyre in trouble Those were the words spoken only a few days ago by Jessie Guidroz. who was killed instantly April 22, in a traffic accident. That was the philosophy by which Jessie had lived his 35 years of life here on earth. In early life Jessie showed an aptitude for many skills and soon became know as a Jack of all Trades If a truck needed driving, Jessie became a truck driver; if an automobile needed mechanical work, Jessie was a skilled mechanic; if electrical work was needed to be done, Jessie was an electrician; if a barn needed to be built, Jessie was a carpenter; if crops or cattle needed attention, Jessie became a farmer; if trees needed cutting, Jessie was a lumberman; if plumbing needed repair, Jessie became a plumber; if a Peace Officer was needed, Jessie was a Deputy; if a lady was in distress needed drapers installed, light bulbs changed, or furniture moved, Jessie became the all around handy man. Most of all, when a person needed a friend in time of trouble or illness, Jessie became a strong arm to lean on for comfort and support. Jessie was a family man of 8 children. The training and guidance of those children occupied a major place in Jessies life. He was not tempted by a high salaries his skills could have commanded if it meant leaving his family. He was always on call for their needs. Jessies last act was one of kindness, that of calling to a mother to tell her that her child was in danger by playing on the road. Jessie was not a rich man nor was he socially prominent, but a kind, honest, hard working man, who was always ready to help his friends, family and employer. Jessie was not forgotten in death. They remembered. The humble, the proud, the rich, the poor, they came by the hundreds to pay their last prayful tribute to him. With rain , soft and gentle as teardrops from heaven falling on the green earth Jessies friends followed to his resting place in Leonville. The Almighty God , when He looked at Jessie, must have welcome him with these words, Come blessed of my Father, take possession of the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me to eat; I was thirsty and you gave me to drink; I was a stranger and you took me in; I was in prison and you came to me.....Amen I say to you as long as you did it for one of these, the least of my brethren, you did it for me. Matthew, C-26 v 34.
