Today would have been your 63rd birthday. Its been almost a year & two months since you left me & let me tell you it hasnt gotten any easier. Whoever said time heals all wounds, has obviously never gone through this. I woke up today wishing that when I opened my eyes & walked out of my bedroom youd be there. Obviously it was dumb of me to wish for. Its your 63rd birthday... I asked you this last year, but hows heaven? I have this half assed idea that its full of mountains & oceans & creeks & tuna boats & kings games & nascar races & golf tournaments. If its anything near like that in jealous of you. Dad, I miss you so much. There honestly isnt one minute that goes by that I dont miss you. Life does some pretty messed up things & I want nothing more than to have you back home with me. Its your 63rd birthday daddy, say hi to Nana, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, & Cole Allen Smith for me, & make sure they get some of the cake! Its your 63rd birthday... Happy birthday Captain Jack.
