Todays 50-mile ride started early in the morning when it was still dark. Weve got a family lunch in West London this afternoon so I wanted to wrap things up early. It rained for the full session. I was drenched from head to toe. My hands and feet were so frozen that I had to get my daughter to untie my laces when I got back - because I couldnt feel my fingers! At almost 4 hrs long it GOes down as probably my slowest ever 50-mile ride. I also got myself lost for about 10 minutes near the end, when I took to the cycling lanes in Milton Keynes. Even my Garmin GPS heart rate monitor broke down - maybe water got into it. This outing was far from perfect. But you know what? Im so glad I did it!
