Todays Bible reading, Friday, November 8, 2013 Mathew 6:8-10 Prayer “Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven… In this passage of the Lords Prayer, Jesus is teaching His disciples about priorities. Glorifying Gods name and the spread of His kingdom are to be the burning passions in our hearts. The more we allow Gods name in our lives by having holy and clear consciences before Him in all things and purifying our hearts, the more His kingdom will be manifested in all aspects of our lives. We will then easily walk in His will. Honoring God in our hearts paves the way for His reign in our lives which naturally fulfills His will for us and others. How can I honor Gods name in my life? Heavenly Father, Your name is glorified and honored in all the works of Your hands. I long to join them and have it a supreme desire to cherish and reverence Your name in every sphere of my life. Train me to have a clear conscience without offense toward God and others. Whether I eat or drink or whatever I do, help me do all for Your Glory. Amen
