Here is Maddies story from her mom Stacey: Maddie was adopted from HSAC on December 22nd, 2012. I saw her picture posted on the HSAC Facebook page and I immediately knew she was the one. Her picture didnt look like these though, she looked sad and had scars on her face from her rough start at life in Georgia (she was a rescue/transfer). I talked my fiancé into going to see her - it was love at first sight for me, and though he liked her, he still wasnt sure getting another dog was a great choice. When I told the girl at the shelter we were going to go home and think about it, she informed me another potential adopter was on the way to see her. At that moment we knew we couldnt leave unless she was with us, she already had us wrapped around her paw. Her and Millie (our other dog) took a little while to get used to each other but now they are loving sisters! The day we adopted Maddie was one if the best days of our lives. She completed our family and we love her more than the world. The dogs do everything with us and have such a great life! Her and Millie go to the beach all the time and just run and run and play in the water, they love it! They go to to grandmoms house and play with their uncle a Cavalier King Charles named Teddy. They have been to Peddlers Village, New Hope, kayaking, fairs and festivals, hiking, dog parks, wine-tasting (though they just sipped on water) and so many other places! She is such a great dog and I always encourage people to adopt, its one of the best and most rewarding things youll ever do! For people that say money cant buy you happiness... They never paid an adoption fee!
