Todays #CK2Story time will be in text format because of a little thing called Midsummers, sacred to us Swedes! Lets delve into the legends from the empire of Hispania, contributed by Markus Melander. Let this speak of King Ferdinand the Unlucky, son of Emperor Mikael first of his name, also known as Mikael the Blessed. King Ferdinand was the first born of Emperor Mikael and destined to inherit the throne of Hispania. The emperor, who was a military man decided that his son would become a diplomat and gain the support of all his vassals after Mikaels death. Ferdinand was turning out well with his first guardian Chancellor Leo. That was until Leo fell from a tower and died. The same year a crusade was called for Jerusalem and Emperor Mikael gathered his army and went to war in the name of god. because of the war it was decided that Ferdinand would become a general like his father. He was to be guarded by the king of Andalusia, an arbitrary and cruel man who tutored Ferdinand to become a jealous, ambitious and cruel ruler. Once Ferdinand became of age he was granted the duchy of Granada to prepare him for the empire. Shortly afterwards Duke Ferdinand was caught trying to kill Emperor Mikael, but he was pardoned. The King of Andalusia decided that he would try and kill Emperor Mikael as he was displeased with the De Jure territory of Andalusia that wasnt under his control (Granada). He was imprisoned and lost his kingdom to Ferdinand. King Ferdinand was pleased and became a content young man, who patiently awaited his empire. Little did he know that he would die 60 years old, and still only be the king of Andalusia. Emperor Mikael lived to see the age of 80 and passed his empire on to king Ferdinands son. Hence forth King Ferdinand shall be known as King Ferdinand the Unlucky.
