Todays Chucklehead Award absolutely must go to those GOP honchos - TopicsExpress

Todays Chucklehead Award absolutely must go to those GOP honchos teetering on the edge of a cliff in their formerly red states who are leading the charge to restore voting rights to convicted felons, just in time for 2016! Chuckle chuckle! Having alienated African American, Hispanic, elderly and other minority voters with their largely failed voter ID laws -- thinly veiled attempts at Democratic voter suppression -- its certainly natural that the Republicans would turn next to a group that it is one of the most uneducated and gullible potential GOP voting blocs in the country. Friends, I dont mean to sound callous, but having represented 100s of felons as an assistant public defender, I can tell you that most are not the sharpest tools in the shed. If they were, they wouldnt get caught in felonious activities. Which makes them susceptible to manipulation by the Teabagger Party (Yup, that is what the GOP has become), a party that relies on disinformation campaigns and dirty tricks to win. This is right up the alleys of Americas least wanted. Can you imagine the campaign slogans? Vote for me, Ill set you free! Yeah, right. When you get right down to it, this movement parallels criminal law reform enacted in Georgia a couple years ago at the behest of our Publican Guvnah Deal. Supposedly, decreasing Georgias outlandish prison population by lowering penalties for nonviolent offenses, such as drug possession crimes, was the humane thing to do. Nonsense! The very party responsible for locking every poor African American crack smoker away that it could realized that its law and order strategy had come back to bite it in the wallet. And when prisons start costing Teabaggers too much money, they suddenly become concerned about human rights. Guffaw guffaw! (Loud ones) This makes for great theater, folks. The party that decries widespread voter fraud that doesnt exist, now wants to fix it so the real frauds can vote for their candidates. Wonder what old Will Shakespeare would have to say/write about this? Im thinking it might be this: Some are born dishonest, some achieve dishonesty, and some have dishonesty thrust upon them. At the ballot box.
