Todays Crime Report March 10, 2014 15 SUSPECTS TO APPEAR IN COURT ON SERIOUS CHARGES Detectives from the Central Detective Unit have filed charges against fifteen (15) males for a number of serous criminal offences. The fifteen (15) males ages 17 through 36 are expected to appear in court today (Monday 10th March 2014) to be formally charged. The suspects are: A 26- year old male of Quarry Mission Road for the Murder of Darius Adderley A 22- year old male of Melvern Road for Stealing A 32- year old male of Bellot Road, and a 22- year old male along with two males ages 23, and 24 of Pinewood Gardens for Armed Robbery A 30- year old male of Harbour Island for unlawful possession A 24- year old male of Pinewood Gardens for the Attempted Murder A 36- year old male and a 35- year old man of Garden Hills for Rape A 26- year old male of Poitier Avenue for Assault with a Deadly Weapon A 32- year old male of Bellot Road for Armed Robbery A 17- year old male of Newbold Street and a 24- year old male of Boiling Brooks Road, along with two males ages 21 and 24 of Nurrissus Avenue for Possession of a Firearm SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION OFFICERS ARREST ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS Two men ages 26 and 23 are in custody after they were arrested for armed robbery on Saturday 8th March 2014 According to reports, shortly after 10:00pm, officers from the Southwestern Division were on routine patrol on Firetrail Road, when they spotted a Honda Toreno vehicle, which was stolen during an armed robbery. The officers intercepted the vehicle and took the two suspects into custody. Investigations are ongoing. SOUTHWESTERN DIVISION SPECIAL OPERATION NETS 8 ARRESTS Consistent with the Commissioners Police Priorities for 2014, a team of officers from the Southwestern Division under the command of Superintendent Mary Mitchell conducted a special operation in the Division on Friday 7th March, 2014 that targeted persons suspected to be involved in various criminal activities. During the operation a number of search warrants were executed that reaped the following results: Five (5) persons arrested for Housebreaking Three (3) persons arrested for Unlawful Possession The recovery of a large number of stolen items DEU OFFICERS DISCOVER FIREARM According to reports, around 1:00pm on Sunday 9th March 2014, Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, acting on intelligence conducted a search of an abandoned truck at Marshall Road, where they uncovered a shotgun. No one was arrested in this incident. Investigations are ongoing. MOBILE DIVISION OFFICERS CITES 61 DRIVERS, 18 ARRESTED Consistent with the Commissioners Policing Priorities for 2014, Mobile Division saturation patrols intended to reduce crime and to minimize the ability for criminals to commit criminal activities reaped the following results during the past 24 hours: One (1) arrest for Stealing Six (6) arrests for Outstanding Court Warrants Thirty-six (36) drivers cited for various Traffic Violations. Mobile Division is under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent Perry Clarke. POLICE INVESTIGATING BODY IN SHALLOW GRAVE Police are investigating the discovery of body found on Sunday 9th March 2014. According to reports, around 3:00pm, Police received a report of a body buried in a shallow grave in bushes off Cowpen Road West. Police on arrival at the scene found a shallow grave and unearthed a body. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Investigations are ongoing. POLICE SEEK PUBLICS ASSISTANCE IN SOLVING SHOOTING INCIDENT Police are requesting the publics assistance in solving a shooting incident that has left two males ages 21 and 19 detained in hospital on Sunday 9th March 2014. According to reports, shortly after 8:00pm, the two men were standing among a group of persons on Frank Watson Boulevard, when one of them was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the upper body area. The victims were transported to hospital where they are listed in serious condition. Investigations are ongoing.
