Todays DDYAUG Yoga Break will make your back *really* happy! Tarasana, or Diamond Pose, is great for decompressing your spine and opening up your lower back. Warm up your body with a Downward Facing Dog - peddle your feet, lift one leg to the ceiling and open your hip, then the other, anything you can think of to stretch out the kinks. Then take a seat and bring your feet about sixteen to twenty inches in front of you. Bring the soles of your feet together and let your knees fall open. If your hips are tight, place your knees or thighs on blocks or firm cushions. Soften your joints, and lift the front of your pelvis so your tailbone tucks slightly. Soften between your shoulder blades. Now take hold of your shins, ankles, or feet and lower your head towards the floor - allow your back to round. Stay here for five to ten breaths.
