Todays Devotion Topic: Gifts of Grace (Self Assessment 30) Readings: Rom 12: 4- 8, 1 Cor chapter 12. We are blessed to see another weekend so bright and fair, a great day to spend some time studying the Word. Kindly ponder on the passage below and send us the revelations the Holy Spirit gives you. BACKGROUND: The Holy Spirit is the source of all spiritual gifts. He gives different gifts to different individuals to edify the church. There are Power Gifts (1 Cor 12: 1- 11), Ministering Gifts (Rom 12: 6- 7) and several more. Meditate on todays readings and share your thoughts with us: Text: Rom 12: 4- 8 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Amen Questions: i. What do you know about spiritual gifts what purpose do they serve? (1 Cor 12: 7) ii. Although the Holy Spirit remains the source of these divergent gifts, Paul still admonishes us (in 1 Cor 12: 31) to eagerly desire the greater gifts, why? iii. Pick any 3 of the ministering gifts mentioned in Rom 12: 6- 8 and explain how these gifts can be a blessing to the church of God and the individuals that bear them. iv. Though we are many, we are one body in Christ (vrs 4-6). What therefore happens to the body of Christ if the individuals that bear these spiritual gifts do not operate in them? (1 Cor 12: 12- 26) v. According to 2 Tim 1: 6- 7, how can a believer grow in the gifts He/ She operates in? vi. In what ways can a believer Stir up His/ Her Gift? vii. What have you learnt from todays bible study? Kindly reply here on this same social media platform (Whatsapp and Facebook). We counting on you! (yonghana.org, LIKE OUR FACEBOOK PAGE: Y OUTREACH NETWORK)
