Todays Devotion Topic: Planted In His House! Text: Psalm 92: 1- 2, 10- 14. 1 It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, 2 proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, 10 You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured on me. 11 My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes. 12 The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; 13 planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. 14 They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, Amen We have one more day to complete the first half of this year- God has been so good to us. Here we are, still smiling and singing even in the midst of all the struggle. You see, the music may not be perfect, but, that it is coming from a grateful heart can not be mistaken. We dont even know how God has sailed us through these trying economic times. Things are getting tighter every day yet we grow tougher and stronger. This must be the Finger of God keeping us! He has exalted our horns and poured fine oils over us. He has defeated all our adversaries and granted us peace in the middle of the storm. Whats more? He assures us this morning that those of us who choose to remain in His righteousness will flourish like a palm tree and grow like a cedar of Lebanon planted in His house. They will still bear fruit in old age and remain fresh and green.Wow. You see, the palm tree is strong and useful in every way. Its roots, trunk, branches, fruit, kernel and husk provide several benefits to man, animal, bird and insect. And so is the cedar of Lebanon. It was the most dependable choice of timber for all types of construction throughout the bible days. Standing tall and firm, it beams kept structures like Solomons temple and palace strong and intact. To be like these two nature greats planted in the house of the Lord is an incredible blessing. Both tress can withstand very harsh climatic conditions and remain fresh all year round. Precious One, we can only flourish and flourish in the days to come no matter what the economist say. Essential commodities may be scares but WE shall never lack any good thing! Dearly beloved, in a time when all things are fading away; where else would you rather be planted than in the house of the Lord? David said better is one day in your courts than a thousand else where. See you at church- remember to bring all the load with you. Jesus will give you rest! Begin to pray now.
