Todays Devotional 20:04:2014: GREAT EXCHANGE “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.” Luke 22:42 It was at Gethsemane that Jesus agreed to do the will of the Father and you will agree with me that it wasnt an easy decision to make, The scriptures said He prayed. Jesus said “Is there any other way the price can be paid? But thank God He said “Not my will but yours oh Lord” and He paid that price for us. It was a great exchange and it cost Him something; that is why you must not live your Christian experience just anyhow. Yes, salvation is free but it cost Him something. Salvation is free because Jesus paid the price. He took your place so that you will not pay the price. Jesus said “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me” He was forsaken, so that you and I can be accepted. Everything He did was a great exchange. He was nailed on the hands, so that your economic activities and efforts can be blessed. You are supposed to be blessed in whatever you lay your hands upon to do because of the great exchange. Everything on the cross was an exchange. The piercing of the nail on His feet was for your dominion-anywhere you go, you are in-charge so take your place today and be in-charge indeed. The exchange was complete; the writer of Hebrew said that Jesus died to deliver them who through the fear of death were subject to bondage. (Hebrew 2:15). This includes deliverance from sin, sickness, poverty, want, lack, frustration, confusion, limitation and all those who the enemy had held back by intimidation, lies and manipulations. You have been delivered by the great exchange. Celebrate your freedom because God has set you free. Today as we celebrate His resurrection, celebrate the finished work on Calvary. Rejoice because you have been discharged, acquitted, no appeal, case closed. It is your season of rejoicing. Further reading: Romans 8:10-15, 8:3, 2 Timothy 1:6-7.
