Todays Devotional 29:08:2014: God is concerned about you For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jeremiah 29:11 (KJV) No matter what you are going through in life, never for one moment think that you are alone. God is thinking about you. He has promised never to leave you nor forsake you. Things might not have fallen into your model of a perfect plan, but that does not mean God has lost touch with your situation. Man may forget, the promise of man may fail, but not God. His word is ever reliable and ever dependable, and what is more: His mind is full of you. Many times we look around and we cannot see the way out. No matter how dark the night may be, the sun will shine again. Remember the story of Joseph that we looked at yesterday, the more he prayed, the worse it seemed to get. In fact, his righteous living seemed to be his worst nightmare. Imagine going from slavery to prison just because he refused to sleep with his Masters wife! Think about it. I am sure he would have wondered where all this persecution would lead to. His fear for God took him to prison. Think about it. At least in Portiphars house, though a slave, he was comfortable, because he was in charge. Everything, including other slaves, were at his beck and call. Now, just because he chose to obey God, he faced blackmail and landed in prison. You might look at it and say that a little compromise wont hurt. Maybe he should have slept, just once, with Portiphars wife and saved himself from the misery, but if he did, how would he have met the butler and the baker? If he did not meet them, how would his talent to interpret dreams be discovered and told to the king? Beloved, the night may appear darkest now, but dont give up. Hang in there. God will come through for you. You will get to your expected end. I will hear your testimony.
