Todays Devotional: EMOTIONAL PREDICTIONS Good morning! How are you feeling? This is an important question to ask today, because most of our decisions in life are based on how we feel; and this is always confirmed by the conclusions we then draw towards because they agree with how we feel. Yet, feelings arent usually the truth of what is really going on. Its true we are emotional creatures, and thus we are well acquainted with responding to them based on how we are feeling. However, our responses to feelings is to remedy the immediate pain as quickly as possible, rather than responding to them with the truth that can bring resolve to the problem. Truth is not the focus when we feel something that is emotionally draining, therefore we generally respond incorrectly in favor of what we are feeling, which to us, legitimizes what our feelings told us because of the outcome. It is here that we dangerously develop making decisions based on how we feel rather than whats the truth. Sadly though, this is rarely understood by most. Why? Because feelings make something feel more alive to us in the moment, whereas, decisions made from truth does not usually bear the stronger emotion; its just the right thing to do. This is why the Bible teaches us that we are not to walk by sight, but by faith in Gods Word. Again it says, man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Trusting the truth when feelings are dominating good sense, is where most bad decisions evolve. Natural emotions are connected strongly to our present struggles, thereby we are less trusting in what God declares in comparison, because the feelings of whats currently happening to us are whats deemed to be more real. This is why so many trust what they feel, in place of what the truth of Gods Word would exhort them to follow and have faith in. Feelings are vested deeply in what is happening around us because thats all we tend to focus upon, thus strengthening those emotions as being what is really going on. But this generally is not always the case . If you are in a struggle today, hold on to the truth of Gods faithful Words with your all that addresses your current dilemma, rather than how you may feel in the fire of your situation. Following Gods truth will bring you safely through your struggles with success; but if you ignore this and trust what you may be feeling at the moment, here lies the root causes for those lifetime regrets that so many land upon. Therefore, do life from the soundness of Gods truths, and avoid these life regrets from trusting in how you may be feeling. ~Dad~ Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God ’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God ! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life! Honor God with everything you own; give him the first and the best. Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over. But don’t, dear friend, resent God ’s discipline; don’t sulk under his loving correction. It’s the child he loves that God corrects; a father’s delight is behind all this. (Proverbs 3:5-12 MSG)
