Todays Fish Count: 2 boats and 20 anglers. 1300 Sanddab, 2 Bonito and 1 Blue Perch, 15 Rockfish (released) and 4 Lingcod (released). For a detailed boat by boat count, Click here--> channelislandssportfishing/fish-counts Sea Lions were successful in shutting down todays chances of catching a Yellowtail. Anglers on the Sea Jay had high hopes of pulling on a winter Yellow but only ended up catching a couple Bonito. Thats just how it goes when your hunting the Yellows! On the other hand our anglers on todays 3/4 day Gentleman trip were hoping to load up on some tasty Sand Dabs and Oh Boy, did they! The Gentleman loaded the boat with 1300 Sand Dabs for only 13 anglers.. a busy day for sure! We have open trips going out every day. Some are Surface Fishing only for Yellowtail, Calico Bass and other free swimmers. Other trips are fishing for a variety of Perch and Sand Dabs. The weather has been outstanding at the Channel Islands. We are not only still catching fish in January, but seeing a huge assortment of ocean going wild life on top of it. Whale Watching trips with the Ranger 85 are seeing whales with regularity now, while dolphins and sea birds are flocking to the boat. Come on out and enjoy the wonders of the Channel Islands National Park and its surrounding waters! For reservations call (805) 382-1612 Secure online booking available 24/7 at Ciscos
