Todays #FridayFeaturedAlbum is the penultimate one in our series! Moving away from the Heavy Rock of the last few weeks, were back in Indie territory today with an album which, at the time, wasnt very highly regarded. In fact, although this band went on to much bigger success, this album has the status of something of a curio in their back catalogue. Radioheads debut Pablo Honey received barely a shrug from the music press at the time, and it wasnt until the re-release of the single Creep, months after the albums release, that the band made an impact on the charts or the public. But after the single became a cult hit in America, everyone sat up and paid a bit more attention - even if the rest of the album wasnt as highly regarded. Looking back, the album was released at a time when there was a lot more attention focused on American bands (because of the whole Grunge thing), and it didnt exactly break new strides in Indie guitar-rock. But listening to it now, its a solid album of its time, with some memorable songs like You, Stop Whispering, Anyone Can Play Guitar, the haunting Blowout - and of course Creep (which we covered!). For more 1990s alt-rock nostalgia in the run up to our reunion gig on 1st November keep following this page! Get your tickets for our gig from our EventBrite page: sixstringtrauma.eventbrite.co.uk/
