Todays Game Results: **Varsity at top **JV story to follow Todays Varsity result against Soquel: Soquel 4, North Salinas 1 By: Coach Ashlee Today the Lady VIKINGS traveled to Soquel High School to take on the Knights. This game started off with a hit from the VIKINGS, but there wasnt enough offensive power to bring the runner around. Soquel started the bottom half of the first with a shot hit to shallow right-center. There were several Viking mistakes that the Knights capitalized on, which led to the first run of the game. In the second inning, there was a heads up, defensive play by freshman first baseman, Andreea Gaona. On the squeeze play, Gaona, quickly tagged the runner and connected with Kaitlin Shipman to complete the double play at third. The Knights would go on to score their last three runs between the third and fifth innings. Overall, the Lady VIKINGS were putting the ball in play, making contact and making Soquel make the plays. We head out to practice tomorrow with some new objectives and goals as a team and programs! Once again, we hit the dirt again on Saturday when we play in the Circle of Champions. Our pool plays on field 4, the entire afternoon. Game times are as follows: **2PM- vs. Leigh HS **6PM- vs. Half Moon Bay HS We hope to see you out there! We are VIKING STRONG! *** JV against Soquel: NSHS 16, Soquel 15 By: Coach Whitney The Lady Vikings played a hard fought game against Soquel. We took an early lead, but the bats of soquel had them coming back all game. Ultimately the Vikings were able to.hold them up to the last inning to close out a win. The Lady Vikings will continue practice on Friday and be prepared to take on Carmel on Tuesday at home. We are VIKING STRONG! ***
