Todays Good News: You can run from Richmond Police, but you can’t hide for long. However, that was the attempt earlier this week when a woman returned home and saw a man dash out of the residence after he had just broken into it. Fourth Precinct Officer Albert Sanderson and Sergeant Kim Mooney checked the residence and spoke with the victim to gather the suspect’s description and determine what was stolen. Several officers circulated the area searching for the suspect, including K-9 Officer Walter Stone and K-9 Macon. Officer Michael Kiniry then spotted a man matching the description running on nearby Brook Road and quickly detained him. Detective Patrick Mansfield responded and interviewed both the victim and the suspect, finding several pieces of stolen property in his pockets that the victim identified as hers. He subsequently charged the man with two felony crimes and one misdemeanor related to the burglary. Good work officers!
