Todays Gospel. Friday, August 22, 2014. The Word of the Lord according to Matthew 22:34-40. The Greatest Commandments (bellow). Reflection: Paladasal, ang pangit naman ng ugali. Wala din. Ito yung post kahapon nung pamangkin ko sa pinsan. Hindi man lahat ay pangkaraniwan ang ugaling napuna lalo na sa mga relehiyosong tao tulad ko. Iba po ang pag uugali ni Hesus ng Siya ay tanungin tungkol sa pinakamahalagang kautusan. Jesus gently showed the wise man that there is not one of the commandments that is greater than the another. They are all great. They all come from God. In fact there are several commandments that tell us to love God. This is the first and the greatest commandment. The second is great too because it is like the first. Tanungin natin ang ating sarili: DO I HELP MY NEIGHBORS TO KNOW GOD? Do I still RESPECT him as redeemed by Jesus, EVEN THOUGH HE MAY NOT HAVE MUCH COURTESY FOR ME? We must love our neighbors because we love God. Whether our neighbor is easy or difficult to love, is not so important as the fact that we love them. Jesus showed the lawyer that we do not rank the commandments from the greatest to the least but that ALL OF THEM NEED TO BE OBSERVED BECAUSE ALL OF THE COMMANDMENTS ARE HELPS BY WHICH WE CA EXPRESS OUR LOVE FOR GOD-- the first and the greatest.
