Todays Harm Reduction Principle: Does not attempt to minimize or ignore the real and tragic harm and danger associated with licit and illicit drug use. Drug use carries risks, and a serious risk is the risk of injury or death from overdose. We are so pleased to see FDA approval of an important therapy that is used in recognition of both the fact that there are risks associated with drug use and the fact that we have a tool to use in the fight against opioid overdose. Todays FDA approval of Evzio, or naloxone autoinjector, provides an important new tool in our arsenal to more effectively combat the devastating effects of opioid overdose. And it reflects the FDAs commitment to encouraging important new therapies, said Dr. Throckmorton. Thank you, U.S. Food and Drug Administration! **Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about safer injection procedures, and if you havent, please consider attending our overdose responder training. If you think that you are at risk of overdosing or witnessing an overdose, we invite you to come to our training and learn what to do in an emergency. We provide needle and injection equipment exchange on Fridays at our office - please message us if you have any questions, and stay safe!
