Todays Horse Story for the Month of Giving: Today’s horse is Panama Jack. He came to us from a neglect case. His owners surrendered him after the sheriff’s department began investigating a neglect complaint. He’s an approximately 7 year old, grade gelding. He was thin when he arrived, but worse he was scared of almost everything. It seems life hadn’t been kind to Panama Jack. He was hard to catch, hard to handle, and jumped at anything that moved. He so badly wanted to like humans, but at that point he seemed to have no faith in us. He moved into a foster home who has been with BEHS for several years, and she slowly began working with him. He’s making great strides and I know that one day he’ll be a nice horse for the right person. Panama Jack is lucky that he had a good landing in BEHS with a foster home who is willing to invest the time to gain his trust. Not every horse is so lucky, and we need your help to give others the same chance that Panama Jack is getting. Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society is a 501c3 equine welfare organization that helps horses throughout Texas and beyond. Each day until Christmas, we’re going to share the story of one of the horses we have helped this year. As you get to know the horses of BEHS, I hope you’ll find it in your heart to make a donation to help us help them! Your funds will enable us to save horses from neglect, abuse, and abandonment and find them new homes. You can mail your donation to BEHS, PO Box 632, College Station, TX 77841 or send a donation via Paypal at https://paypal/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=SYT2Y5ZPDF648 Anyone who donates $25 or more will get a complimentary 12 month membership which includes access to our email lists, discounted (and possibly free) admission to some events, and makes you a part of the Bluebonnet Family! All donors will receive a thank you card in the mail with a photo of one of our horses. If you want to help but cannot make a financial contribution, donations of new or used horse tack, farm/ranch items, horse-themed home décor, art or jewelry are always appreciated. These items can be sold at our 2015 Bluebonnet Horse Expo to help raise funds. Or consider becoming a foster home or volunteer. Whatever your talent, Bluebonnet has a place for you. We can work together to make a difference
