Todays Kate Countdown post: In 1988, Kate was asked to write and record a song for a specific scene in John Hughes film Shes Having a Baby (which my friend Stephen Pickering actually cameos in). The song, This Womans Work, is one of Kates classics now, also appearing on The Sensual World album in 1989, and has been covered by a number of artists, most notably Maxwell. In 2011, Kate revisited some of her older catalogue with the Directors Cut album. I think this was one of her more successful reimaginings, giving the song space and silence, while utilizing the talents of her son and another boy singer on backing vocals.
