Todays Message: LOOK AT GOD AND NOT ON YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES Praise the Lord!!! “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) Caleb and Joshua, along with ten others, were sent by Moses to spy out the land of Canaan. When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them along with some pomegranates and figs, and at the end of forty days they returned to Moses. But ten of those twelve men were full of unbelief. They reported that the land they had seen surely flowed with milk and honey, but there were giants - the descendants of Anak. They said that they looked like grasshoppers in their sight. They further discouraged that they would not be able to attack those people because they were stronger and more powerful. And there were massive iron gates and great walls which they said would not be brought down easily. But Caleb tried to encourage the people. He said, We should go up and take possession of the land, for we certainly can do it. Even Joshua joined Caleb. But they were in the minority. The Israelites who heard the report of the ten spies turned against Moses. In their audacity they even decided to choose another leader and go back to Egypt. When Caleb and Joshua tried to stop them the whole assembly talked about stoning them. At that very instant the glory of the Lord appeared at the Tent of meeting, and the Lord said to the unbelieving crowd that not one of them, except Caleb and Joshua, will ever see the land that He had promised to their forefathers. So about six million people wandered in the wilderness for forty years until all of them perished - all on account of their unbelief. What a pity! Dear friends, ten men were looking at all the obstacles that the new land presented to them, while two men - Caleb and Joshua looked beyond! They believed that God was able to give them that land He had promised. Let us have the same spirit they had. Let us go and possess the promises God has in store for us. Let us never give room to unbelief. PRAYER: Heavenly Father, the ten men were all the time looking at hindrances and obstacles in their way instead of trusting your Word. Let me not be like them, but let me have the spirit of Joshua and Caleb. Help me to look beyond - at the blessings you have stored up for me. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
